AFRICAN ARTIST CHOREOGRAPHER MOVEMENT ARTIST DANCE EDUCATOR
George Kwabena Bauwah, known as Kobi Twitches or Nana is a distinguished movement artist with over 15 years of professional experience rooted in both traditional and contemporary dance forms. Born on April 28, 1995, He discovered his passion for dance at a young age beginning his training early, starting with Ankos(kakamotobi/masquerade) dancing, progressing through traditional Ghanaian dance, and evolving into street dance styles. While pursuing a degree in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Ghana, he deeply involved in the School of Performing Arts, where he balanced his studies with intensive dance training and participation in productions. This dual focus laid a strong foundation for his future career in the industry. As an active member of the dance community, Twitches has honed his skills in multiple styles, including krump, Azonto, Asorkpor, contemporary African dance, and traditional Ghanaian dances making him a versatile and influential figure in the dance world. His commitment to using dance as a tool for social and environmental change is evident in his numerous projects. Notable works as a performing artist include "AFRICAN GAMES 2023, "Forest Beat" with Cie Shefryon, "ALN @10," Yosakoi festival ", ”This is Ghana” by Michael Sarpong , “Somatic Continum” 2021 with Mawusi Sarah, “SUITS” with Kwame Osei ,"Rhythm and Blood" with Obiajulu Ozegbe, and collaborated with "Steeze Afrika on AAYALOLO (chalewote festival 2023) and Street Art Liberation from 2023-24.
